NSW - Dungog - My Trip to Dungog, NSW
From Tracy Thornhill from Sydney. - My Trip to Dungog, NSW
    From: Tracy Thornhill
We just came back from Dungog, where we spent the weekend (the Dungog Rodeo was on). What a terrific little town - probably the nicest looking town I've seen in all Australia to date. We stayed at the Royal Hotel. It was OK but had it been my choice, and we'd had a chance to do a little more research (the weekend was organised by some friends), I'd have chosen a bed & breakfast place - there was a nice-looking one right next to the Royal.

I don't think noise would be a problem at any of the pubs. On Saturday night, there were 2 patrons below at 8:00 PM, and the pub closed a few minutes later. While we were upstairs on the verandah overlooking the main street (from about 8:30 PM until midnight or so), we started counting the cars that drove past as an interesting diversion. By midnight, we'd counted up to 11 (not counting the elderly lady driving a white Laser who drove up and down the street, mysteriously, 5 or 6 times). At a rate of one car per hour on a Saturday night, this is not a busy town!
