Wooramel (including Gladstone)
A roadhouse between Carnarvon and Northhampton
Located 122 km south of Carnarvon, Wooramel is literally nothing more than a roadhouse on the long and lonely road between Carnarvon and Northhampton. To the south minor road from Yaringa heads across to the coast where the remnants of the Gladstone jetty, which was once an important shipping centre for the wool and sandalwood produced in the area, can still be seen. Like so much of this beautiful coastline the area around Wooramel comes alive with wildflowers in the spring.
