    Bonshaw
Tiny village on the New South Wales - Queensland border
Bonshaw is a very attractive but tiny village on the NSW-Queensland border 93 km north of Inverell and 783 km north of Sydney.

Perhaps the most memorable event in the town's history was the day in 1867 when notorious bushranger 'Thunderbolt' (alias Frederick Ward) held up the local hotel, robbing everybody but the ostler who was known to be poor.

Little remains today, other than a school, since the hotel burned down. However, Bonshaw Weir remains a popular fishing spot.
