    Snakes of Australia

Written by Peter Mirtschin and Richard Davis this 216 page book (delightfully subtitled 'Dangerous and Harmless') is designed to let the reptile-phobe know exactly what they are scared of - and why. It is really for people, particularly bushwalkers, who want to identify the snakes that cross their paths. Each snake is depicted (in a very clear colour picture), its habitat is shown on a map of Australia, its status (harmless to highly venomous) is stated, its biological name (including the year and name of the person who named it) is provided. There is then a detailed description and a description of its habitat. This is a good, comprehensive guide which can be carried effortlessly in a backpack.

The bookshop is closing down and we now have limited stock and are only sending books out upon receipt of a cheque. The sensible thing to do is email belder@bigpond.com with a request for the book. We will notify you if we have any copies in stock. If we do then we can arrange for the book to be posted upon receipt of a cheque. Cumbersome, yes. But all books are being discounted.
